Ingrdients

Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (divided)
  • 2 packets rapid rise yeast (0.25 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Filling

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter (softened)

Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Butterscotch Topping

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

Dough

Instructions:

  1. Melt the 1/2 cup of butter with the milk. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a mixer, combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the water, eggs, and the warm butter/milk mixture. Mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough forms a ball.
  5. Knead the dough with a dough hook for 5 minutes or by hand if preferred.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 10 minutes.

Filling

Instructions:

  1. Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter until well combined.
  2. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
  3. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log.
  5. Cut the log into rolls and place them in a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  6. Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes.

Baking

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake the rolls for 20 minutes. Cover loosely with foil and bake for an additional 10 minute

Cream Cheese Frosting

Instructions:

  1. Beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream. Mix until creamy.

Butterscotch Topping

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan.
  2. Add the salt, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream. Stir until smooth.

 

Assembly

  1. Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls.
  2. Add the butterscotch topping for an extra layer of sweetness.
