Monorail Doors Fail to Close

When on Disney World’s Monorail and you hear “Por Favor Mantengase Alejado De Las Puertas” which is Spanish for “Please Stay Away From The Doors”, I guess they really mean it.

Video and images are circulating of a Disney World Monorail Red car’s door staying open for the entire ride from TTA to the Magic Kingdom Station.

Luckily there are no reports of injuries due to this malfunction.  This malfunction is another in a recent long list of problems that aging Disney World Monorail System has occurred.

It is becoming abundantly clear that it is time for Disney to invest in new Monorail vehicles.  The current Monorail has been in constant service since 1989.  Just last year, chunks of the “Blue” Monorail fell off while the vehicle was in motion, stranding riders in the cars for hours while Reedy Creek Fire had to evacuate them by ladders. Pieces Break off Blue Monorail
